Polyester fibres with an admixture of silver ions have a slightly antibacterial effect and increase the tensile strength of the sock. Elastane improves elasticity. A reinforced section on the shin eliminates pressure points from ski boots, a plush heel and toe area is resistant to abrasion, and a low knit on the instep helps wick away moisture.
